A legendary former Brazilian LaLiga footballer has spoken out about the Real Madrid star, Vinicius Jr, racism in Spain and much more
Djalminha, a legendary former Brazilian footballer for RC Deportivo de la Coruña, has spoken at length about Vinicius on the microphones of 'El Larguero', on Cadena SER.
"The Vinicius of Madrid is not the same as in Brazil, but in Madrid he is not the same as in Brazil either. It is complicated," he begins by explaining. We have a team in which everyone knows what they have to do on the field and in Brazil he comes to a disorganized team without a game plan. So, for Vinicius it is more complicated to play in Brazil. But it is not an excuse that his performance in Brazil is not the same as in Real Madrid. What really happens is that Vinicius' performance is not good, but the moment of the national team in general is terrible," argues Djalminha.
WOULD YOU GIVE HIM THE BALLON D'OR?
To the question of whether the '7' of Real Madrid deserves the Ballon d'Or, he answers the following: "It is a rather complicated question. With those who are competing with him (Bellingham or Rodri), I think he has a chance of winning. Although I think they are not going to give it to him, I think they do not want to give it to him. If they give it to him, fine. But if he does not win, I do not think it is a very big injustice," says Djalminha.
Finally, the former Brazilian footballer has spoken out about the great controversy of recent months: "We have to separate the issue of racism from other issues. What is happening with Vinicius I am very disappointed, because it is not normal. More than racism it seems hatred towards him. But he does not have to talk about an entire country. There are people like there are all over the world, but generalizing is more complicated. "In this regard, we have to be a little careful with what we say," says Djalminha.
